Junior QA Engineer (Java/Selenium)

At Jacobs’ Krakow office, we build digital solutions powering complex engineering and infrastructure projects globally. This role is part of the growing Digital & Data Hub, working in international teams focused on quality, innovation, and collaboration.

• Up to 2 years of experience in software testing
• Basic understanding of software testing principles and the software development lifecycle
• Knowledge of manual testing techniques and defect reporting
• Basic programming knowledge, preferably in Java
• Familiarity with test automation concepts and interest in developing automation skills
• Exposure to testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Postman
• Basic understanding of REST API and API testing concepts
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team while demonstrating initiative and willingness to learn

Nice to have:

• Basic knowledge of Maven and IntelliJ IDEA
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Exposure to CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins
• Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms such as AWS
• Interest in performance, security, or exploratory testing

• Assist in creating and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications and APIs
• Execute manual and automated test cases for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes
• Support regression testing activities to ensure existing functionality continues to work as expected
• Work with developers, testers, and product teams to understand requirements and acceptance criteria
• Identify, document, and report defects using tools such as Jira
• Analyse test results and assist in investigating failed tests and application issues
• Help improve test coverage by identifying areas that would benefit from additional automated or manual tests
• Maintain test documentation, test cases, and testing reports
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions
• Continuously learn and apply testing best practices, tools, and techniques
