Sr. Backend Engineer (Golang/Distributed Systems)

Pack.com is a company working in the gamified shopping sector.

• 5+ years of backend engineering with expert proficiency in Golang and strong production experience in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js).
• Extensive hands-on experience architecting and maintaining production event streams using Apache Kafka.
• Real-world experience deploying and managing containerized services in GCP and Kubernetes.
• Advanced understanding of data modeling, caching, and indexing with Redis and MongoDB.
• Prior experience in fast-moving or startup environments with end-to-end feature ownership.
• Ability to pass rigorous technical assessments on Go concurrency, system design, and Kafka event handling.

Nice to have:

• Strong mathematical aptitude for complex calculations related to gaming or financial data layers.
• Interest or exposure to integrating LLMs, autonomous agents, or meta-prompting strategies.
• Availability to align working hours between EST and EET for communication.

• Design, write, and maintain backend microservices primarily in Golang and Node.js (TypeScript).
• Own and evolve event-streaming infrastructure using Apache Kafka with complex partition strategies and asynchronous workflows.
• Architect, scale, and optimize data layers using Redis and MongoDB.
• Deploy and manage services within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes environments, ensuring service reliability.
• Rapidly develop clean and scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs based on ambiguous product requirements.
• Solve complex backend calculations and algorithms natively within business logic.
