Python Backend Engineer (AI Agents & SaaS Integrations)

Gramian Consultancy is a boutique consultancy specializing in IT professional services and engineering talent solutions, combining software engineering expertise with technical recruiting and business development.

• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Experience building backend applications, REST APIs, or microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Git, and software delivery pipelines.
• Strong practical proficiency with Claude or Claude Code.
• Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
• Professional written and spoken English.
• Strong knowledge of software testing, version control, and code quality practices.

• Build Python backend applications that replicate SaaS platform functionality.
• Develop REST APIs, microservices, integrations, and backend workflows.
• Build new SaaS connectors and adapt existing integrations.
• Perform backend testing and integration validation.
• Verify connectors to reproduce accurate system behavior.
• Analyze software workflows and datasets for realistic AI tasks.
• Create representative tasks based on real-world tools and interactions.
• Conduct structured QA to validate task accuracy and completeness.
• Write clear evaluation rubrics for outcome assessment.
• Use Claude Code and AI coding agents in development and validation.

This is a freelance contractor role paid per approved task, with a minimum commitment of one approved task per day. The engagement lasts 2–3 weeks with immediate start. Work location is remote, with short screening and technical evaluation required.
