Software Architect

• 8+ years of experience as a System/Software Architect designing scalable systems.
• 12+ years of hands-on software development experience, strong proficiency in Java or equivalent backend language.
• Proven experience building enterprise SaaS platforms, self-service products, and highly scaled production systems.
• Experience in financial technology (FinTech) or regulated industries is an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture with strong advantage in AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, IAM).
• Hands-on experience with microservices, event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong command of software design patterns, SDLC, and system integration strategies.
• Expertise in design paradigms such as DDD, TDD, EDD and principles like SOLID, KISS, DRY, SSOT, CQS.
• Solid understanding of security fundamentals including encryption, authentication, authorization, data privacy, and secure coding.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, API design using REST and GraphQL.
• Practical experience with Git branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot (Agent Mode), Codex CLI.
• Practical fluency with AI productivity tools for design, code review, documentation, and research.
• Ability to design effective context and prompts for AI agents; familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Awareness of security, privacy, IP, and quality risks of AI-assisted development and mitigation strategies.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities and agent-based components into backend products is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and influencing skills with fluency in English.

• Lead architectural design across multiple Papaya Global domains and infrastructure systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance.
• Act as a trusted architectural partner translating business and product requirements into technical direction.
• Define and maintain high-level architecture focused on seamless integration, maintainability, and evolvability.
• Build hands-on Proofs of Concept (POCs) to validate architectural decisions and new technologies.
• Lead technical due diligence on third-party vendors and integrations evaluating scalability and security.
• Drive secure-by-design practices embedding security, privacy, and regulatory considerations in system design.
• Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies including AI/LLM capabilities to create business leverage.
• Champion adoption of AI-powered engineering tools and agentic workflows across R&D.
• Define and steward architectural guidelines, standards, and best practices.
• Provide technical mentorship and architectural guidance to development teams.
• Review designs, RFCs, and implementations to maintain architectural consistency and quality.
