Lead Data Architect

Bayer is hiring a Lead Data Architect for their Digital Hub Warsaw. The role focuses on shaping technology architecture to enable better, faster decision-making in Pharma Preclinical Data Intelligence, supporting scalable digital solutions and high-quality data insights.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or related field.
• Experience designing and implementing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Lakebase.
• Experience with lakehouse technologies like Databricks, Unity, Spark, and Lake Formation.
• Familiarity with agentic tools: GenAI for data pipeline code, LLM for mapping and annotation.
• Experience with ETL tools and processes; strong SQL and scripting skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.

• Design data models and metadata systems.

• Help principal data architects interpret organizational needs.

• Provide oversight and advice to other data architects.

• Design and support the management of data dictionaries.

• Ensure teams follow standards set by principal data architects and Architectural Council guidance.

• Collaborate with architects and engineers to align system design with data architecture.

• Key Responsibilities & Outputs:

• Interpret stakeholder needs and manage communication with senior stakeholders.

• Choose appropriate media and shape communications for different audiences.

• Undertake data profiling and source-system analysis; present insights.

• Define and evolve data governance; integrate data services across businesses.

• Understand emerging trends in data tools and techniques.

• Produce data models across multiple subject areas; apply industry patterns.

• Set standards and act as escalation point for breaches.

• Design metadata repositories, evaluate tools, and advise team members.

• Coordinate team problem investigation, resolution, and prevention.

• Communicate how activities meet strategic goals; contribute to strategy and policy.

• Translate business problems into data design and architecture solutions.

• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, data scientists, architects, engineers, stewards, enterprise architects, software engineers, business leaders, stakeholders, and contractors.

Dane osobowe będą przetwarzane do czasu zakończenia postępowania rekrutacyjnego i przez okres możliwości dochodzenia ewentualnych roszczeń, a w przypadku wyrażenia zgody na udział w przyszłych postępowaniach rekrutacyjnych - do czasu wycofania tej zgody. Zgoda na przetwarzanie danych osobowych może zostać wycofana w dowolnym momencie.
