DevOps & Technology Controls Engineer

• Fluency in English
• Strong hands-on DevOps/Platform Engineering experience in regulated, high-availability environments; payments/financial services preferred
• Proven experience with Kubernetes deployments, scaling, configuration, secrets management, and troubleshooting
• Strong operational knowledge of Oracle from application/platform perspectives including connectivity, performance triage, HA/DR; collaboration with DBAs
• Experience with SQL
• Experience with Linux
• CI/CD and automation skills including Git-based workflows and scripting (Bash/Python); configuration management/IaC preferred
• Strong IBM MQ support and troubleshooting experience including security (TLS) and performance
• Experience supporting IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) in production
• Experience managing secure SFTP integrations at scale with keys/certs, automation, and monitoring
• Observability and troubleshooting skills with logs, metrics, traces, performance tuning, and capacity planning
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint
• High autonomy, prioritization, decision-making, and delivery with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational and management skills to handle competing priorities and drive actions to closure

Nice to have:

• Payments experience (e.g., SEPA)
• Experience with API gateways/management, service mesh, container security, vulnerability management
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change) and operational governance
• Experience with disaster recovery testing, resilience engineering, and chaos/verification testing

• Own day-to-day reliability, change delivery, and continuous improvement of SEPA payments technology estate including IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), IBM MQ, Oracle, SFTP integrations, APIs, and microservices on Kubernetes
• Build and support CICD pipelines, deliver orchestration solutions, maintain payment services, and perform service oversight and management
• Manage incidents end-to-end with impact assessment, coordination, stakeholder updates, and root-cause reviews
• Maintain support guides, on-call readiness, and service health monitoring with effective alerts and dashboards
• Support IBM MQ and IBM WAS for reliable connectivity, performance, security (TLS), configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting
• Work with DBAs to support application connectivity to Oracle for performance and resilience
• Manage secure, automated SFTP integrations including keys/certificates and monitoring
• Ensure file/batch and message processing meets SLAs with strong traceability and audit readiness
• Operate microservices on Kubernetes including deployments, scaling, configuration, secrets, ingress, observability, and service mesh
• Improve CI/CD and release practices across WAS-based applications and Kubernetes workloads
• Collaborate with API and engineering teams to standardize operational best practices (health checks, SLOs, logging, metrics, tracing)
• Automate repeatable tasks using scripting or Infrastructure as Code
• Strengthen operational maturity with consistent standards, quality documentation, and SRE-style practices
• Coordinate changes across teams balancing delivery speed, stability, and regulatory expectations
• Communicate status, risks, dependencies, and timelines clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Take ownership of outcomes by identifying blockers early and driving resolution
• Assist in ITSO activities to ensure service health, governance, ownership, incident/proble follow-up, and continuous improvement
• Identify and manage operational and technology risks, maintain controls including audit evidence, support risk assessments, and ensure compliance
• Coordinate delivery and operational priorities, mentor colleagues, and promote good engineering and operational practices
• Work closely with stakeholders located worldwide
