DevOps & Technology Controls Engineer

Join the DOME Payments Team working in a mission-critical payments environment focused on platform availability and service stability across a broad range of technologies including vendor products and in-house developed microservices.

• Fluency in English
• Strong hands-on experience in DevOps and Platform Engineering in regulated, high-availability environments, preferably in payments/financial services
• Proven experience running workloads on Kubernetes including deployments, scaling, configuration/secrets, troubleshooting
• Strong operational knowledge of Oracle from application and platform perspectives including connectivity, performance triage, HA/DR concepts, and collaboration with DBAs
• Experience with SQL and Linux environments
• Capability in CI/CD and automation, including Git-based workflows and scripting in Bash and Python; configuration management and Infrastructure as Code preferred
• Strong experience supporting and troubleshooting IBM MQ, including security/TLS and performance
• Experience supporting IBM WebSphere Application Server in production
• Managing secure SFTP integrations including keys/certificates, automation, and monitoring
• Strong observability and troubleshooting skills with logs, metrics, traces, performance tuning, and capacity planning
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps tools such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint
• High autonomy with effective prioritization and delivery
• Strong organization and management skills handling competing priorities

Nice to have:

• Experience in Payments (e.g. SEPA)
• Experience with API gateways/management, service mesh, container security, and vulnerability management
• Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management
• Experience with DR testing, resilience engineering, and chaos/verification testing

• Own day-to-day reliability, change delivery, and continuous improvement of a SEPA payments technology estate
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines and orchestration solutions
• Support and maintain payment services, including service oversight and management activities
• Manage incidents end-to-end, including impact assessment, team coordination, stakeholder updates, service restoration, and root-cause reviews
• Maintain clear support guides (runbooks), on-call readiness, and service health monitoring with alerts and dashboards
• Support IBM MQ and IBM WAS for connectivity, performance, security (TLS), configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting
• Support application connectivity to Oracle, working with DBAs on performance, connection management, and HA/DR resilience
• Manage secure SFTP integrations with keys/certificates, automated transfers, monitoring, and operational controls
• Ensure file/batch and message-based processing meets SLAs with traceability and audit readiness
• Operate microservices on Kubernetes, including deployments, scaling, configuration, secrets, ingress, observability, and service mesh where used
• Improve CI/CD and release practices for WAS-based applications and Kubernetes workloads
• Work with API and engineering teams to standardise operational best practices such as health checks, SLOs, logging, metrics, and tracing
• Automate repeatable tasks leveraging scripting and Infrastructure as Code
• Strengthen operational maturity through consistent standards, documentation, and SRE-style practices
