Data Annotation Specialist

• Comfortable working with data, capable of building spreadsheet models, calculating and interpreting quality/agreement metrics.
• Eager or experienced in using light Python and pandas to automate quality checks.
• Strong written communication and structured thinking for writing annotation guidelines that annotators follow.
• Proven ability to coordinate people or projects to deadlines, including freelancers and cross-functional partners.
• Self-directed and capable of owning and independently managing an area.
• Fluent in English and working fluency in at least one of: Italian, Portuguese, or Polish.

• Design, automate, and run QA workflows including sampling, metrics, quality dashboards, and throughput reporting to measure project quality numerically.
• Support building and maintaining labelling interfaces in Label Studio by configuring projects and refining layouts to enhance annotation speed and accuracy.
• Write clear, testable annotation guidelines and keep guideline libraries and project documentation organized and up to date.
• Source, onboard, and coordinate freelance annotators alongside the AI Annotations Lead; track deadlines, manage deliverables, and answer queries.
• Create simple, decision-useful summaries from annotation outputs and project data for leads and stakeholders when needed.
• Support data analysis and reporting related to project health and quality metrics.
• Participate in designing programs to validate the quality of AI systems.
