Head of IT (Base Courier)

Base.com is an international company supporting entrepreneurs in e-commerce by providing an all-in-one system integrated with major industry leaders like Amazon, eBay, Shopify, DHL, and FedEx. The Base Courier business unit simplifies and optimizes shipping processes by connecting companies with a diverse network of national and international carriers, enabling efficient scaling and global expansion.

• Minimum 7 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years as a development team leader.
• Strong knowledge of the technology stack: PHP (Symfony, Doctrine), databases MySQL/AWS Aurora, and experience working on AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS) with Linux, containerization with Docker, and CI/CD using GitHub Actions.
• Experience designing architecture for scalable systems in cloud environments, including APIs and external system integrations.
• Familiarity with engineering best practices such as code review, CI/CD, automated testing, and versioning.
• Knowledge of application security and technical risk management.
• Ability to communicate technology solutions effectively to both technical teams and business units.
• Proficiency in English to collaborate within an international team.

• Technically lead the development team by setting standards, best practices, and technological direction.
• Design system architecture and make key technology decisions based on business needs.
• Supervise development work and be ready to work hands-on when necessary.
• Define and maintain the technical roadmap in collaboration with product and business teams.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and platform scalability, including tests, CI/CD, and technical debt reduction.
• Mentor and support developer skills development and foster an engineering culture.
• Oversee security, reliability, and continuity of implemented solutions.
• Participate in integration and implementation projects across the Base group.
