Mid/Senior Symfony Developer | Legacy Modernization | Fluent English

Polcode is a global technology partner with a team of almost 100 professionals helping build and improve digital businesses, software platforms, eCommerce stores, websites, and apps. The position involves working on a mature Symfony application for an international client as part of an 8-person development team.

• Strong Mid/Senior-level commercial experience with PHP and Symfony
• Hands-on experience with older Symfony versions
• Experience upgrading or migrating Symfony applications to newer versions
• Confidence working with mature and legacy codebases
• Ability to understand existing solutions and improve them pragmatically
• Fluent English (C1/C2) and excellent communication skills for daily collaboration
• Proactive approach and willingness to be a fully engaged member of the development team

Nice to have:

• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD
• Familiarity with microservice-based environments
• Exposure to Go or systems integrating with Go-based services

• Develop and maintain an established Symfony application
• Work with legacy code and older Symfony versions
• Contribute to Symfony upgrades and gradual stack modernization
• Analyze existing solutions and introduce pragmatic improvements
• Collaborate directly with the client’s development team
• Participate actively in daily meetings, planning sessions, and other Agile team activities
• Work within an environment using GitLab and CI/CD
