Senior GCP Cloud Platform Engineer

Upvanta is hiring for a senior role in a project based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, focused on building scalable and secure enterprise Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments for Saudi Aramco's extensive cloud usage. The project is a minimum 12-month assignment with relocation support provided.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Cloud Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation
• Very good practical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Expert knowledge of Terraform
• Experience building enterprise landing zones
• Practical knowledge of Google Fabric Fast
• Experience creating IaC and DevOps pipelines
• Experience migrating and modernizing applications from on-premise to GCP
• Strong knowledge of GKE / Kubernetes, IAM, cloud networking, security policies, resource monitoring, and cloud-native architectures
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Google Cloud Build
• Ability to create reusable and secure Terraform modules
• Experience managing Terraform state and automating governance via IaC
• Higher education in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field
• Very good command of the English language, both spoken and written
• Strong analytical, consulting, and problem-solving skills
• Must hold all active Google Cloud certifications:
  • Google Cloud Certified – Associate Cloud Engineer or equivalent Professional level certification (Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Developer)
  • Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Network Engineer
  • Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Security Engineer
• Practical experience with payment systems, knowledge of ISO 8583 standard, and transaction security technical understanding
• Ready to work 100% on-site in Dammam, Saudi Arabia

• Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise-grade Google Cloud Platform services
• Build and develop scalable enterprise landing zones
• Utilize and develop solutions with Google Fabric Fast
• Create and maintain secure and scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
• Design advanced Terraform modules
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD and IaC DevOps pipelines
• Automate provisioning and infrastructure management processes
• Participate in migration and modernization of applications from on-premise to GCP
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders
• Support teams in solving complex GCP related problems
• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in GCP Platform Engineering
• Ensure security, compliance, and enterprise cloud standards

Work is strictly 100% on-site in Dammam, Saudi Arabia; no remote or hybrid work possibilities. Candidate must be ready to relocate and remain on-site for the entire project duration. Possession of all specified active Google Cloud certifications is mandatory.
