Senior Platform Engineer (RedHat and Kubernetes)

Motorola Solutions is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to work on their On-premise Infrastructure Engineering team in Kraków. The team focuses on designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, platform services based on RedHat OpenShift and Kubernetes, and managing physical and virtual infrastructure layers including Networking, Storage and Compute for on-premise environments.

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with a focus on on-premise environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience deploying and maintaining production-grade Kubernetes or RedHat OpenShift clusters on bare-metal or virtualized private hardware.
• Strong command of Linux internals including storage, networking, and process management.
• Hands-on experience with data center networking fundamentals, including switching, routing, load balancing, and firewall rule implementation.
• Experience automating operational tasks using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Ability to work in an agile environment under high-pressure demands.
• Strong communication skills for documenting architectures and mentoring junior staff.
• Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in pressured environments.

Nice to have:

• Experience with software defined storage (Ceph, Rook, ODF).
• Management experience with VMware vSphere or KVM virtualization.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Certifications such as CKA or RHCE.
• Experience with CIS Hardening and STIG compliance in secure environments.

• Design and implement local CI/CD pipelines within dedicated on-premise environments.
• Develop and operate common platform services centered on RedHat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Manage physical and virtual infrastructure layers including Networking, Storage, and Compute.
• Lead end-to-end deployment of RedHat OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on private hardware.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines for server provisioning, OS hardening, and application deployment.
• Serve as escalation point for complex networking, storage, or container orchestration issues.
• Implement security best practices such as CIS hardening and SELinux for air-gapped or secure environments.
• Optimize Linux kernel parameters and network configurations for high-throughput, low-latency applications.
• Provide technical guidance and conduct code/configuration reviews for the engineering team.
