Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Performance and Scalability)

Digital Zone is an online platform providing digital vouchers and direct top-ups for various products. Acquired by Qi Card in 2022, it now operates within Qi Card's SuperQi super app, offering services such as mobile top-ups, event tickets, travel bookings, and hotel reservations. The company is based in Iraq and expanding regionally, with apps available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

• 5+ years in SRE, platform, or backend engineering with production ownership of large-scale systems handling tens of thousands of requests per minute.
• Proven experience scaling systems during real traffic spikes and designing/running load and failure testing programs adopted by teams.
• Deep AWS experience and strong knowledge of Postgres performance and scaling.
• Proficient with observability tooling and Infrastructure as Code, plus scripting in Go, TypeScript, or similar.
• Calm, systematic approach to incidents with communication skills to influence and enable teams rather than gatekeep.

• Build the platform's scalability foundation including capacity planning, autoscaling, caching, queueing, and graceful degradation for large campaign spikes.
• Establish load and failure testing as standard engineering practice by providing frameworks, tooling, and runbooks.
• Own SLOs, error budgets, and the observability stack (metrics, logs, traces, alerting) across TypeScript, Go, and PHP/Laravel services.
• Harden Postgres and AWS infrastructure for performance and availability, and reduce toil through automation and Infrastructure as Code.
• Lead incident response and blameless postmortems, driving systemic fixes into design and campaign planning.
• Partner with engineering teams early on capacity and resilience to make them self-sufficient at scaling their systems.
