Engineering Manager - Delivery Experience Backend Team

Allegro sp. z o.o. operates in the e-commerce logistics sector focusing on developing a critical integration platform for delivery and carrier services. The company manages a backend team responsible for evolving the platform architecture, including migration from .NET/Azure to a JVM and GCP-based stack. They maintain an extensive microservices ecosystem, open-source data bus (Hermes), service mesh, and production machine learning solutions.

• Strong technical background in backend development with experience in .NET or Java.
• Experience in planning, managing, and executing complex system migrations or architectural overhauls.
• Business acumen to translate high-level business needs into actionable technical tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in external technical representation.
• Willingness to be hands-on when necessary.
• Product-oriented mindset with experience maintaining and scaling critical APIs.
• Fluency in Polish and English (B2 level).

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kotlin.
• Familiarity with the JVM ecosystem and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Planning and executing the strategic migration of microservices from .NET to JVM/Kotlin/GCP without disrupting ongoing operations.
• Managing, mentoring, and supporting a backend engineering team through technology stack transition.
• Maintaining and developing integration APIs to support carriers and new business requirements.
• Translating complex business expectations into technical solutions.
• Leading technical discussions and negotiations with external business partners.
• Participating in daily team operations and providing hands-on technical guidance.
