Engineering Manager, Gameplay

CD PROJEKT RED is a company dedicated to creating revolutionary, story-driven RPGs. The team is working on The Witcher 4, an upcoming chapter in their renowned RPG series.

• At least 5 years of experience working with Unreal Engine.
• Direct experience with gameplay topics such as locomotion, combat, and camera systems.
• Proven leadership experience managing a development team of around 7 members.
• Credited as lead or manager on at least one shipped AA or AAA title.
• Proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine 5.
• Solid understanding of gameplay systems such as motion matching and animation systems.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
• Experience in risk management and team development.
• Strong working proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Values open, constructive feedback and respectful dialogue.
• Collaborative mindset while bringing own perspective.
• Comfortable with team problem-solving through challenges.

• Support, maintain, and extend gameplay and engine systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain core gameplay features including locomotion, animation, and camera systems.
• Develop tools and debugging utilities to support gameplay development.
• Collaborate with game designers and cross-functional teams to deliver engaging gameplay mechanics.
• Write, improve, and maintain automated and gameplay-focused tests.
• Debug, profile, optimize, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with QA and other teams.
• Work closely with designers, animators, QA, production, and other teams to deliver cohesive gameplay experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Support and mentor other engineers by sharing knowledge and providing feedback.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and engineering team to define technical priorities and support project goals.

This position requires working in the Warsaw Hub with hybrid working mode available. Relocation to Warsaw, Poland, is required.
