Karat role - Senior Software Engineer

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience with multiple programming languages (Polygot), database schemas, API development.
• Basic understanding of Linux and web technologies.
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience in a technical lead role focused on DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE is beneficial.
• Solid understanding of internet and HTTP concepts including DNS, TLS, load balancing, reverse proxies, service meshes, API gateways, and microservice architectures.
• Strong programming skills (structured and OOP) in Java, JavaScript, and/or Python.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and InfluxDB; familiarity with time-series databases and visualization concepts.
• Experience delivering technology iteratively in small increments.
• Self-motivated and fast learner.
• Strong collaboration skills across global teams, including mentoring offshore teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and senior stakeholder management.
• Proficiency in English for business-level communication.
• Reporting and presentation skills for data analysis.
• Innovative thinking, challenging conventional approaches in a dynamic environment.

• Be involved in analytical activities to understand the scope of a control and how Platform services could fulfil it for tenants.
• Participate in building automation services, workflows, and integrations to automate controls at scale.
• Develop APIs, data schemas, and process flows.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop solutions to automate controls.
• Demonstrate operational, delivery, and engineering excellence when developing the Platform Control Plane.
• Actively drive continuous improvement, organizational maturity, and productivity focusing on automation, process improvement, and reuse.
• Collaborate across functions to define, prioritize, and implement innovations improving controls for Tenants of Engineering Platforms.
