Workplace Architect (File Share to SharePoint migration)

Cyclad works with top international IT companies to deliver advanced technology projects. The current project is a large-scale File Share to SharePoint Online and Azure Bulk migration program involving approximately 261 TB of data and 155 million files.

• Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online architecture.
• Extensive hands-on experience with large-scale File Share to SharePoint Online migrations.
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint information architecture, governance, permissions, security, metadata, retention, compliance, and content lifecycle management.
• Practical experience with ShareGate, Quest, and migration factory methodologies.
• Proven experience designing and executing migration waves, pilot migrations, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and data remediation.
• Experience with high-volume migrations involving hundreds of terabytes and millions of files.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex migration scenarios.
• Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation abilities.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, challenge existing concepts, and translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with SMEs, project teams, and senior stakeholders.

• Review, challenge, and optimize existing SharePoint Online architecture, information structure, governance, and migration strategy.
• Validate migration readiness and define migration roadmap and wave-based migration approach.
• Analyze complex migration scenarios and technical blockers such as long file paths, unsupported characters, large file volumes, permission challenges, macro-enabled Excel files, and content issues.
• Define data remediation, exception handling, and migration standards for problematic content.
• Guide and mentor the SharePoint SME in configuring migration tooling, including Quest and ShareGate.
• Design pilot migration scenarios with success criteria, test procedures, validation, rollback plans, and cutover activities.
• Lead up to two pilot migrations, analyze results, and optimize architecture and processes.
• Provide technical governance and leadership during initial production migration waves.
• Ensure adherence to quality, security, governance, and compliance standards.
• Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and issues.
• Facilitate technical workshops and communicate migration decisions and risks to stakeholders.
• Support strategic decisions on target platforms, archiving, content consolidation, data remediation, and migration prioritization.
• Establish and maintain migration standards, best practices, and documentation.
