Application Development Manager, State Street Investment Management, Vice President,

State Street Investment Management (SSIM) builds platforms supporting one of the world’s largest asset managers in the financial services industry, focusing on Global Funds Management business and investment ecosystem.

• Deep experience building distributed, enterprise-grade applications in Java and/or Python environments
• Strong understanding of modern architecture principles including microservices, APIs, and cloud-native design
• Experience working in cloud-based environments, preferably AWS
• Confidence across the full lifecycle: design, build, deploy, and operate
• Proven ability to own delivery in complex, cross-functional environments
• Ability to influence stakeholders and lead through expertise without relying on hierarchy
• Prior exposure to financial services is a plus, but curiosity and learning agility are valued more
• Krakow-based; minimum 3 days per week hybrid (office) presence required

• Design and build robust, scalable applications supporting Global Funds Management
• Act as a technical anchor within a highly capable engineering team
• Drive end-to-end solution delivery from architecture to production
• Lead adoption of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, automation, DevOps)
• Partner with global stakeholders across Technology and business to solve complex problems
• Champion engineering excellence, quality, and continuous improvement
• Mentor and elevate engineers, fostering a high-performance, learning-oriented team

Role requires candidate to be Krakow-based with hybrid work model (minimum 3 days per week in office).
