MS Fabric & Power BI Data Specialist (German-speking) | Enterprise Finance & SAP

Polcode is a global technology partner with a team of almost 100 professionals specializing in building and improving digital businesses, software platforms, eCommerce stores, websites, and apps. This role supports a digital transformation initiative in the energy industry focused on modernizing the Finance data landscape using Microsoft Fabric technology within the Microsoft ecosystem.

• Several years of experience building data platforms, Data Warehouse solutions, and analytics architectures
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Semantic Models, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Direct Lake, and Dataflows Gen2
• Strong data modeling expertise, including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Dimensional Modeling, and Semantic Layer Design
• Expert-level SQL skills and experience modeling relational and analytical databases
• Strong Power BI expertise, particularly DAX, Measures, time intelligence, performance optimization, and data model architecture
• Experience integrating data from SAP environments such as S/4HANA, BW, or SAC
• Experience designing and implementing data governance, data quality, and standardization concepts
• Solid understanding of Finance and Controlling processes, including planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management
• Experience delivering data-driven transformation and analytics projects
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills with an end-to-end understanding of data architectures and data flows
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into sustainable data models and technical architectures
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work
• Very good German skills (minimum C1)
• Good English skills (minimum B2)
• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a comparable qualification

Nice to have:

• Experience with Python or Spark
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps and Power Automate
• Experience working in SAFe environments

• Design, build, and evolve data architectures using Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Dataflows Gen2, Semantic Models, and central data products
• Develop scalable data models supporting Finance reporting, analytics, planning, and performance management
• Design and implement a Single Source of Truth for finance-related KPIs and management information
• Integrate, harmonize, and model data from SAP systems such as S/4HANA, BW, or SAC and other enterprise applications
• Define data modeling and database standards supporting data quality, consistency, and reusability
• Develop and optimize Semantic Models, Measures, KPI structures, and time intelligence concepts in Power BI
• Support the transformation of existing reporting and analytics solutions towards a modern Fabric-based data platform
• Translate Finance and Controlling requirements into efficient data models and technical architectures
• Create technical concepts, documentation, and architectural guidelines for data products and reporting solutions
• Analyze and optimize the performance of existing data structures and reporting solutions
• Share knowledge and advise business and technical teams on Microsoft Fabric, modern data architectures, and data modeling best practices
• Work in an agile SAFe environment with Finance, IT, Data Engineering, and other stakeholders

Remote-first position within Poland with occasional travel to Essen, Germany for onboarding and meetings. German language skills minimum C1 required; English minimum B2. Cooperation planned until the end of 2026 with an option to extend.
