Senior Data Engineer - Data Platform team (100% Remote within Poland)

Docplanner, formerly known as Znany Lekarz, is a healthcare technology company operating in 13 countries and trusted by over 90 million patients monthly. The company employs over 2,500 people worldwide, with more than 300 in Engineering, Data, and Product teams responsible for building the product for all locations.

• Several years of experience building and operating production data platforms, including data warehousing, data lakes, orchestration, ingestion, and event streaming
• Strong Python and SQL skills with software engineering practices like testing, CI/CD, and code review
• Deep experience with an orchestrator, specifically Airflow, including running, scaling, and debugging
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (using AWS) and cloud data warehouses
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and debugging workloads
• Experience designing for failure: idempotency, backfills, data quality checks, and monitoring
• Effective communication skills to explain technical trade-offs to varied audiences
• Proactive and pragmatic problem-solving approach
• Interest and enthusiasm for AI tools automating operational work

Nice to have:

• Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and container optimization
• Experience enabling data platform usage including modeling with dbt and data serving
• Familiarity with message-driven architectures and streaming (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Big data tooling experience such as Spark
• Experience operationalizing machine learning models

• Design, build, and operate scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines across many source systems
• Lead architectural decisions on the data platform and author proposals for adoption
• Improve reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency of the platform
• Develop infrastructure in close cooperation with Platform engineers
• Collaborate with analytics engineers, analysts, and data consumers to enhance data experience
• Mentor other data engineers through code review, pairing, and design feedback
• Drive automation and AI-assisted operations
• Interact daily with cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous data problems into solutions
