Android Software Engineer

Our client is developing an AI-native assistant designed to support everyday communication, organization, errands and complex workflows with minimal user input. The product must reliably manage long-running processes, retain context, interact with external tools and complete real-world tasks despite the non-deterministic nature of modern AI models. The company's objective is to make everyday activities significantly faster and easier for users.

• At least three years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI functionality such as LLM, vision or speech APIs.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, particularly Coroutines and Flow.
• Familiarity with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.
• Strong debugging and performance-profiling skills.
• Ability to build systems that handle latency, partial failures and non-deterministic behavior.
• Experience with ML Kit or lightweight on-device inference.
• Experience shipping production applications through the Google Play Store.

• Build and maintain production Android applications using Kotlin.
• Integrate AI-powered features, including chat, vision, voice and recommendations, through backend APIs.
• Design user experience patterns for AI interactions, including streaming responses, retries and partial results.
• Optimize application performance, responsiveness and memory usage across AI-intensive workflows.
• Implement analytics, logging and feedback collection to support AI evaluation and continuous product improvement.
• Collaborate closely with backend and Machine Learning engineers on API contracts and system behavior.
• Ensure application stability, security and scalability in production environments.
