Senior Backend / AI Engineer

Code & Pepper develops AI-native solutions for the service and construction industries, automating back-office processes such as warranty handling, data processing, and ERP migrations. Their architecture is based on relational databases, integrations with external APIs (e.g. Microsoft Azure), LLM models, and interfaces.

• Experience designing PostgreSQL databases and advanced data modeling
• Practical knowledge of API architecture design and integration with external systems
• Experience integrating AI/LLM models and deploying agentic AI solutions in production
• Ability to design and optimize complex data structures (relational, document, vector databases)
• Ability to create and optimize data pipelines
• Experience making architectural decisions and documenting solutions
• Ready to work overlapping 8 hours daily with US Eastern Time zone
• Fluent English (C1) for effective team communication

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Supabase platform and Microsoft Azure APIs
• Experience with agentic AI solutions and voice/conversational interfaces
• Knowledge of ERP systems or software for SMB sector
• Basic knowledge of frontend technologies (React, Tailwind) to facilitate integration with UI layer
• Experience working in a dynamic startup environment

• Design architecture of backend, data models, and ETL processes from scratch
• Design and implement PostgreSQL databases and advanced data modeling
• Design and deploy API architecture and integrations with external systems
• Integrate AI/LLM models and deploy agent solutions in production environments
• Design and optimize complex data structures (relational, document, vector databases)
• Create and optimize data pipelines
• Make architectural decisions and produce clear documentation
• Work with 8-hour daily overlap with US Eastern Time zone
