Lead Developer Advocate, SQL & Analytics Workloads

Snowflake is a company focused on enabling the era of the agentic enterprise by integrating AI into work processes. The role supports SQL developers, analytics engineers, data engineers, and data teams to succeed with Snowflake's data platform and developer ecosystem.

• 5+ years of experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, technical evangelism, solutions architecture, or developer education.
• Proven senior individual contributor experience with ownership and cross-functional leadership.
• Demonstrated success driving adoption for developer platforms, data products, or analytics products.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Deep familiarity with modern data and developer workflows including analytics engineering, data transformation, orchestration, APIs, SDKs, notebooks, BI tools, and cloud data platforms.
• Strong understanding of SQL-centric workflows: data modeling, query optimization, semantic layers, transformation frameworks, governance, observability, and analytics consumption.
• Experience building demos, prototypes, reference apps, or production examples for analytics, BI, or modern data stacks.
• Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly across technical and broader developer audiences.
• Strong public portfolio of technical content such as talks, workshops, blogs, videos, code samples, open source projects, or community programs.
• Experience growing and engaging developer communities authentically.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills for education.
• Strong product instinct and ability to identify developer friction and roadmap priorities.
• Track record partnering with product management, engineering, product marketing, solutions engineering, customer success, and field teams.
• Bias for action, strong ownership, comfortable with ambiguity and fast-moving environments.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, BI platforms, semantic layers, or adjacent cloud data ecosystems.
• Experience creating enablement for SQL developers or analytics engineers.
• Familiarity with open source data tooling and developer workflows.
• Experience organizing hackathons, meetups, ambassador programs, or communities.
• Background as a software engineer, data engineer, analytics engineer, solutions architect, or developer educator.

Define and drive the advocacy strategy:

• Own and execute the developer advocacy strategy for SQL development, analytics workflows, and the modern data stack.
• Align advocacy priorities with product goals and business outcomes.
• Identify high-value technical narratives to accelerate adoption.

Create technical content and reference implementations:

• Build tutorials, quickstarts, blog posts, videos, workshops, code samples, and best-practice guides.
• Design and maintain reference implementations and demos for analytics, BI, data transformation, and application development.
• Create enablement assets including onboarding paths and architecture patterns.

Lead SQL and analytics workload enablement:

• Define and scale enablement for developers working on SQL, data modeling, analytics engineering, dashboards, pipelines, governance, and performance.
• Create documentation and adoption assets for SQL, ELT/ETL, dbt, orchestration, semantic modeling, BI, and analytics application development.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and field teams to improve developer workflows.

Evangelize Snowflake in the EMEA market:

• Represent Snowflake at conferences, meetups, workshops, hackathons, webinars, and community events.
• Engage in developer communities on GitHub, Stack Overflow, Slack, Discord, Reddit, and other channels.
• Establish thought leadership in SQL development, analytics engineering, and data application architecture.

Build the feedback loop into product:

• Serve as an advocate by synthesizing feedback from customers, community members, partners, and field teams.
• Translate friction points and blockers into actionable product recommendations.
• Influence product direction using real developer behavior and market needs.

Scale programs and measure impact:

• Partner with marketing, sales, solutions engineering, education, and customer teams to scale narratives, demos, and programs.
• Design and run workshops, technical events, and enablement programs.
• Track metrics for content effectiveness, developer engagement, community growth, and adoption, and improve programs accordingly.
