Senior Software Engineer - Kubernetes Platform

CloudFerro creates technology used by European leaders in science and the space sector, including ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR, and EGI. The company is developing a sovereign European cloud platform based on Kubernetes and open source technology, including a complete PaaS stack, serverless, managed databases, MLOps, monitoring, and observability.

• Experience independently building or operating complex systems on Kubernetes
• Practical skills in designing scalable and reliable distributed services
• Proficiency in Go and good knowledge of Python
• Ability to create operators, controllers, APIs, and CLI tools
• Skills in building API wrappers and integrations using REST/gRPC
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Copilot

Nice to have:

• Experience with ML platforms like Kubeflow, JupyterHub, GPU scheduling on Kubernetes
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow
• Knowledge of observability stack including Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry
• Experience with monitoring multi-tenant metrics and logs
• Developing custom resources for Terraform providers
• Experience at a cloud provider
• Contributions to open source, particularly CNCF projects

• Develop and operate complex systems running on Kubernetes
• Design scalable and reliable distributed systems
• Create operators, controllers, APIs, and CLI tools in Go and Python
• Build API wrappers and integrations using REST/gRPC frameworks
• End-to-end ownership of MLOps and Observability components such as Kubeflow, Airflow, Jupyter Notebooks, and monitoring platform
• Deliver from operator/integration to API endpoint, CLI commands, Terraform resources, and documentation
• Integrate services with common functionalities including IAM, billing, and quota management
• Collaborate in establishing technical standards
