Senior Site Reliability Engineer

SolarWinds is a company focused on providing simple, powerful, and secure solutions to help customers accelerate business transformation. The role is within the R&D - Core Engineering department and operates at the Krakow office located at Puszkarska 7J/Building E, 30-644 Kraków, Polska.

• 5+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Systems Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on production Kubernetes experience including operating, upgrading, and troubleshooting clusters and workloads.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals: Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Jobs, CronJobs, Services, Ingress, DNS, networking, ConfigMaps, Secrets, persistent storage, resource requests/limits, scheduling, autoscaling, Pod Disruption Budgets, high availability, upgrades, and cluster lifecycle management.
• Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes at both application workload and cluster infrastructure levels.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience operating highly available customer-facing production systems.
• Participation in production on-call rotations and handling high-severity incidents.
• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience in scripting and automation using Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
• Strong understanding of compute, networking, storage, DNS, load balancing, and security infrastructure concepts.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex distributed-system failures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

• Operate, maintain, upgrade, and improve production Kubernetes clusters and workloads on AWS and Azure.
• Manage Kubernetes platform components such as Helm, Kustomize, operators, istio, autoscaling, and cluster/node lifecycle.
• Support and maintain production database platforms like ClickHouse and Aurora, including performance troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform.
• Develop automation and tooling using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages to reduce operational toil.
• Participate in on-call rotations, respond to production incidents, lead or contribute to incident resolution and root-cause analysis.
• Improve observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response across infrastructure and services.
• Collaborate with software engineering and platform teams to design and deploy reliable, scalable services.
• Contribute to capacity planning, performance optimization, patching, upgrades, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Engage in reliability initiatives including automation, resilience engineering, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement.

SolarWinds employs only via an employment contract (FTE). The role requires participation in a scheduled on-call rotation to support production systems. The workplace follows a hybrid mode with at least 3 days in the office (Wednesdays and Thursdays mandatory) and 2 days remote.
