Data Engineer/Analyst (business focus)

The Data Foundation team makes the company’s data available, building the groundwork for efficient data use by all business units at Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS). The team covers the entire process from initial data requirements to reliable integrated data provisioning for analytical, administrative, and operational purposes. The European Data & Analytics Hub, established in Warsaw, supports international data use cases aligned with the central HQ function in Germany.

• Degree in Information Systems, Business Informatics, or related field
• Approximately 3-5 years of experience implementing modern data architecture, including requirements engineering, business analysis, and database development
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration/harmonization techniques, especially SQL, Oracle, SAP BW/4HANA, and Informatica PowerCenter
• Experience in requirement analysis/management and software development including effort estimation for complex requirements
• Problem-solving skills and task prioritization under pressure
• Practical experience in agile environments (preferably SAFe) using tools such as Jira
• Excellent English language skills (C1 level)
• Very good Polish language skills (B2+ level)
• Basic project management skills for coordinating cross-functional efforts

Nice to have:

• Relevant certifications like IREB, CBAP
• High customer focus demonstrated ideally in a product owner role

• Collect, analyze, and understand the data requirements of internal customers across the company
• Advise internal customers on designing efficient data-driven processes
• Create and maintain modular conceptual and logical data models
• Design, implement, test, and deploy data integration and harmonization processes from various data sources
• Design and negotiate interfaces and service level agreements with process partners
• Ensure data products run reliably and efficiently in production with IT operations
• Promote agile working processes within Data Foundation through process improvements
• Perform on-call duties up to 12 days per year
