Data Governance Expert

Upvanta is a company focused on developing the Data Governance area in a large organization where data plays an important role in business decision-making.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, or data processing.
• Experience working in organizations with a complex data environment.
• Knowledge of Data Governance principles and frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM or similar.
• Practical knowledge of Data Quality Management, Data Ownership & Stewardship, metadata management, Data Lineage, data classification, and Critical Data Elements.
• Familiarity with data architecture including Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Lakehouse, and cloud solutions.
• Understanding of regulatory and audit requirements, especially RODO.
• Practical knowledge of SQL.
• Knowledge of BigQuery.
• Experience with Data Governance tools like Collibra, Alation, Ataccama, or Informatica.
• Knowledge of Data Quality tools such as Great Expectations, Ataccama DQ, or similar.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• English language proficiency at minimum B2 level.

Nice to have:

• Experience in retail or consulting industry.
• Certifications or additional education in Data Governance and Data Management.
• Knowledge of Python.

• Creating and developing Data Governance policies, standards, and processes.
• Collaborating with data owners, Data Stewards, business, and IT.
• Supervising data quality and coordinating corrective actions.
• Managing metadata, data dictionaries, and Data Lineage.
• Supporting data classification and identification of Critical Data Elements (CDE).
• Ensuring data governance processes comply with regulatory and audit requirements including RODO.
• Supporting data-related projects regarding Data Governance.
• Preparing reports on data quality, risks, and KPIs.
• Collaborating with global teams.
