Experienced Data Engineer

Arla is a global leader in the dairy industry focused on enabling good food choices through natural, sustainable nourishment. The role is within the Commercial IT Product team supporting Innovation and Consumer Intelligence, working with data and AI to deliver digital solutions for better business outcomes.

• Degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or similar.
• 3-5 years experience as Data Warehouse Developer, BI Developer, SQL Developer, or Data Engineer.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience developing with Spark in Databricks.
• Proficient in vector databases, embeddings, LLMs, and generative AI.
• Proficient in SQL and PySpark.
• Experience with ETL/ELT/Integration/Workflow/Task Automation tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Azure Function, SSIS).
• Knowledge of data engineering best practices and scalable solution design in a lakehouse environment.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to learn new technologies especially within AI.

Nice to have:

• Additional Databricks experience.
• Experience with basic data science concepts and LLM know-how.
• Azure cloud experience.
• Terraform knowledge.
• Knowledge of deployment concepts and containerization.
• Experience in web application development.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, data models, and digital solutions.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT processes.
• Support continuous improvement of solutions and development processes.
• Work closely with developers, architects, IT specialists, and stakeholders for reliable solutions.
• Contribute to the development of modern cloud-based data platforms and applications.

This role requires presence in the office 50% of the time plus one additional day monthly.
