Sr Data Architect - Commercial

The Data Assets, Analytics & AI department at Bayer Consumer Health focuses on enabling digital transformation by creating best in class analytical solutions, enabling data-driven decision making and performance optimization for Bayer’s Consumer Health organization. This role is part of the global data assets, analytics and AI platform and involves technical guidance of projects in the area of Data & Analytics within Bayer Consumer Health.

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.
• 5+ years of working experience in Data & Analytics, preferably in the CPG industry.
• Excellent data architecture and technology knowledge with spark-based data processing experience (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SQL, Python). Snowflake is a plus.
• Proficient in data modeling techniques and capable of mentoring data engineers.
• Knowledge of reporting solutions such as Tableau or PowerBI and data management including cataloguing, quality, and compliance.
• Experience with GitHub ecosystem including VCS, GitHub Actions for CI/CD, tickets, and pull requests; knowledge of Azure DevOps is a plus.
• Experience delivering data as a product and leading data engineering teams.
• Knowledge about commercial data domains (CRM, eComm, Sell-Out).
• Experience applying Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Strong problem solving, analytical, communication, consulting and presentation skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, with intercultural awareness and willingness to travel occasionally.

• Own & lead technical implementation and management of well-integrated, enriched, and reusable data models and analytics products.
• Collect and manage data requirements of data consumers, translating them into technical concepts with focus on reusability and cost efficiency, partnering with data providers.
• Ensure best-practice data management and quality assurance processes are defined and applied.
• Collaborate with other data architects, analytics leads, and data scientists to reuse data and build sustainable pipelines and analytical products.
• Collaborate with global and regional business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure delivery aligns with business priorities and IT objectives.
• Lead integration of different data sources to develop globally harmonized data models and KPIs.
• Steer delivery teams including data and BI engineers, provide estimations, challenge effort assessments, and assure quality, testing, and proper handover.
• Contribute to best-practice exchanges in the data architecture chapter and continuous enhancement of data analytics technology stack.
