Product Engineer / Product Builder - Backend or Full-stack

Profitroom builds hospitality software used by thousands of hotels and millions of guests. The role involves owning technical solutions end-to-end, from understanding problems through implementation and continuous improvement.

• Strong commercial experience with PHP and Laravel or Symfony (backend-led profile)
• Experience designing backend systems and distributed architectures such as microservices, event-driven systems
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases including MySQL and MongoDB, caching (Redis), and message queues (RabbitMQ)
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD (specifically GitLab CI), and production infrastructure
• Willingness to work with JavaScript or TypeScript and contribute outside the primary backend area
• For full-stack profile: Strong commercial experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Vue.js, Tailwind, and Pinia
• UX sensibility to detect interaction and accessibility issues proactively
• Ability to deliver frontend and backend changes as one feature
• Hands-on experience with AI coding environments such as Claude Code or Cursor
• Experience with AI tools beyond autocomplete, including test generation, debugging, and development workflows

Nice to have:

• Built and shipped side projects
• Developed MCP servers, agents, or internal AI tools
• Experience with Event Sourcing and CQRS in production
• Contribution to design systems or component libraries
• Designed solutions involving caching, queues, service boundaries, or complex integrations
• Ownership of products or features through full lifecycle

Backend-led Product Engineer:

• Design backend systems beyond implementing predefined endpoints
• Handle business logic, data modelling, REST APIs, and integrations
• Work with microservices, event-driven systems, or other distributed architectures
• Use relational and non-relational databases, caching, and message queues
• Use Docker, CI/CD, and production infrastructure
• Contribute outside backend when needed including JavaScript or TypeScript

Full-stack Product Engineer:

• Deliver frontend and backend changes as a unified feature
• Use TypeScript, JavaScript, and Vue.js in component architecture and state management
• Utilize Tailwind and Pinia or similar tools
• Work regularly with PHP and Laravel
• Address UX, accessibility, and interaction issues proactively

AI-native engineering:

• Use Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent AI coding environments
• Apply AI for technical discovery, implementation, test generation, debugging, and codebase exploration
• Build MCP servers, agents, skills, or internal AI tooling

Shared technical environment:

• Work with PHP, Laravel, Symfony, TypeScript, JavaScript, Vue.js, Tailwind, Pinia, REST APIs, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, Microservices, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, Claude Code, MCP servers, AI agents

General responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery including rollout and hypercare
