Data Design Manager

• Proven experience of leading a small to medium sized team to achieve or exceed expectations
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Experience in mentoring/coaching colleagues
• Ability to constructively challenge decisions and introduce alternate perspectives
• Effective communication skills that elicit trust
• Strong attention to detail
• Intermediate-level SQL querying
• 2 years experience as a data modeller or 5 years experience working with data in data warehouses

Nice to have:

• Experience working with data in Databricks
• Knowledge of retail business data and processes

• Line management and career development of a team of cross-workstream local Data Designers
• Supporting and guiding the team in creating data warehouse designs that meet or exceed requirements, ensuring effective collaboration with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and internal teams
• Ensuring Data Designers understand and comply with agreed principles and processes, delivering supporting documentation accurately and on time
• Leading recruitment of new Data Designers
• Actively contributing to improvements in ways of working and documentation templates
• Completing data warehouse designs when capacity allows, following standard Data Design processes
