AI Platform Engineer Senior/Mid

We're building an AI-native claims operation focused on automating a complex, communication-heavy insurance process, starting with residential property claims. The platform supporting AI models is owned and maintained by the team to ensure reliability and vendor-agnostic infrastructure.

• 5+ years of experience in backend, platform, or DevOps engineering with systems thinking
• Hands-on experience building and operating production services on Kubernetes
• Own end-to-end release processes including team Git structuring and frequent production shipping
• Strong expertise in Python and cloud infrastructure with a cloud-agnostic mindset
• Proficient in Docker and CI/CD
• Deep database knowledge, including diagnosing and resolving slow queries and selecting appropriate datastores
• Prioritize reliability, observability, and security
• Comfortable with high autonomy as a platform owner in a small team

Nice to have:

• Experience with LLM-serving infrastructure, queues, or agentic/async workloads
• Familiarity with GitOps/progressive-delivery tools like Argo or Flux
• Experience with Java alongside Python
• Background in insurance, fintech, or regulated domains; knowledge of German (optional)

• Develop and maintain the Python services orchestrating the agentic pipeline (e.g., FastAPI, LangChain) and the platform they run on
• Manage production runtime including deployment, scaling, resilience, and service health
• Oversee release management: branching strategy, environment promotion, semantic versioning, canary/progressive delivery, feature flags, and rollback
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for reliable delivery
• Build and support the async processing backbone for queued, scheduled, and event-driven claim handling
• Select and operate scalable data persistence solutions
• Ensure observability via tracing, logging, metrics, and alerting
• Maintain security and data protection compliant with GDPR in handling sensitive claim data
