Lead Data Architect - Product Supply

The Data Assets, Analytics & AI team at Bayer Consumer Health focuses on digital transformation and innovation by creating best in class analytical solutions for data-driven decision making and performance optimization.

• Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in data-related roles, with 5+ years in Data & Analytics, preferably Product Supply & CPG industry
• Excellent data architecture, engineering, and management skills, including data quality
• Expertise in Azure Databricks, ADF, Azure Container Services, AzureML, Azure Foundry
• Proficiency with programming languages like SQL, and experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
• Experience with PySpark (DataFrame API, Spark SQL, MLlib), pandas, SQLAlchemy, parallel processing, advanced data transformation and performance optimization
• Knowledge of BI/reporting tools like PowerBi and Tableau
• Bonus: Experience with application frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI) and JavaScript UI frameworks (React.js, Next.js)
• Deep business/domain knowledge in product supply including product data, formulations, quality, orders, procurement, and finance (COGS)
• Experience steering implementation teams of internal and external engineers technically and organizationally
• Strong problem solving, analytical skills, and business judgment
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening, consulting, challenging, and presentation skills
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Intercultural awareness (Europe, US, India) and willingness to travel occasionally

• Lead technical implementation of analytic projects in Product Supply
• Ensure adherence to best practices and design principles for scalable data products
• Design and manage integration of various data sources (product data, formulations, quality data, orders, procurement, finance data such as COGS)
• Design reusable data models and marts to meet business and AI agent architecture requirements
• Contribute to data management processes and steer implementation leveraging best practices
• Initiate and prepare Architecture Change Advisory Boards; collaborate with architects and teams to ensure sustainable pipelines
• Collaborate with global and regional business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure project delivery aligns with business priorities
• Technically lead external providers and internal teams; provide estimations, challenge costs, assure quality delivery, and manage vendor handovers
• Enrich cloud-based data and analytics technology stacks as needed
