Backend Developer (Node.js)

OptiPlay is a next-generation game provider founded in 2025. Built by a team with solid iGaming experience, they combine sharp math, bold design, and a performance-first mindset to create slot games that stand out and scale. The company is rapidly growing its core team and emphasizes direct contribution to the product, roadmap, and culture with minimal bureaucracy. Their goal is to craft high-performing games and become a recognizable new studio in the industry.

• 3-5+ years of backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript, with ownership of complex systems.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining external integrations using REST/HTTP, XML/SOAP, RPC-style, or webhook-based protocols.
• Solid understanding of modular, service-oriented backend architecture, preferably from enterprise or scale-up environments.
• Practical experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka and event-driven, queue-based design.
• Strong knowledge of integration testing approaches including contract testing, mocking, end-to-end, and stress testing.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and Redis, continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD), Git, and monitoring/observability tools like Grafana, Loki, and Tempo.
• Comfortable using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.

Nice to have:

• Experience in iGaming, gambling platforms, or RNG/game provider integrations.
• Familiarity with ArgoCD and GitOps workflows.

• Design, build, and maintain integrations with casino operators and partner platforms including wallet/transaction APIs, game launch, and reporting contracts, managing the full lifecycle from contract design to production monitoring.
• Build resilient integration layers handling retries, idempotency, timeouts, error mapping, and graceful degradation.
• Contribute to core backend services and platform features such as APIs, messaging flows, data models, and shared modules.
• Participate in slot game development by implementing game mechanics and mathematics alongside the core team.
• Define and improve integration testing practices, including contract testing, mocking/stubs, end-to-end, and stress/load testing.
• Collaborate closely with Game Logic, Product, and DevOps teams to maintain stable integration contracts as the platform evolves.
• Participate in code reviews, technical decision-making, and architecture discussions across the backend.
