Cloud Data Architect (GCP)

Future Processing is a company located in Gliwice offering roles focused on data solutions with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience working with data on Google Cloud Platform and experience as Lead Developer or Architect
• Extensive knowledge of Data & Analytics services on GCP: BigQuery, BigLake, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, Dataplex, Sensitive Data Protection, Looker, Vertex AI
• Proficient with CI/CD tools and processes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Cloud Deploy/Cloud Build), and Git
• Ability to design and modify data models and select appropriate architectures such as DWH, Data Marts, Data Lake, Delta Lake, Lakehouse, BigLake
• Familiarity with Lambda and Kappa architectures and their implementation on GCP
• Experience building near-real-time solutions using Pub/Sub and Dataflow
• Advanced skills in SQL and Python
• Capable of designing scalable and fault-tolerant pipelines using Dataflow (Apache Beam) and Dataproc with suitable patterns for batch & streaming processing
• Experience optimizing performance and costs of Dataflow pipelines and Dataproc clusters, including autoscaling and worker sizing, and implementing monitoring practices with Cloud Monitoring and Logging
• Routine use of monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting in the cloud including Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Error Reporting, Cloud Trace
• Skilled in cost planning and optimization (FinOps, GCP Pricing Calculator, BigQuery Reservations)
• Knowledge of on-premise to GCP migrations with various migration types: lift-and-shift, re-platform, re-architect
• Understanding of secure data storage and processing mechanisms on GCP such as VPC Service Controls, CMEK, DLP, Cloud KMS
• Experience participating in presales meetings and translating business requirements to technical solutions
• Strategic and analytical thinking, good self-organization, independence, adaptability, communication skills, and proactivity
• Experience mentoring and training less experienced engineers
• Comfortable leading presentations and talks at industry events
• Openness to business travel
• Advanced English language skills (minimum C1 level)

• Consult with current and potential clients on GCP technologies aiming for cost-effective business solutions
• Participate in discovery and pitch meetings to clarify requirements and present expertise
• Create architecture diagrams and calculate TCO/ROI/costs using Pricing Calculator
• Estimate projects and resource needs for the Data Solutions team
• Build arguments supporting proposed solutions and highlight advantages over alternatives
• Engage in offer meetings presenting architecture and cost estimates
• Conduct R&D in Data & Analytics on GCP identifying business value of new services
• Create Proof-of-Concepts for new data concepts
• Maintain relationships with client technical teams and coordinate engineers involved in projects
• Actively develop the Data Solutions business line including recruitment, client acquisition, conference speaking, and mentoring
• Take end-to-end responsibility for data platform solutions developed with the team
• Design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Composer
• Create and update documentation
• Build and maintain data catalogs and models following Data Governance best practices
• Analyze business requirements and select optimal technological solutions
• Analyze potential risks
• Monitor, diagnose, and optimize cloud costs
