Platform Software Engineer

CloudFerro S.A. works on technologies used by leading European scientific and space sector organizations such as ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR, and EGI. The company develops a sovereign European cloud platform based on Kubernetes and open source, including a complete PaaS stack from serverless and managed databases to MLOps, monitoring, and observability.

• Experience building applications on Kubernetes with a desire to grow towards platform engineering.
• Proficiency in programming with Go and Python, writing clean and testable code.
• Understanding of REST API design including CRUD, error handling, and versioning.
• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes concepts: deployments, services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, RBAC.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Copilot as part of daily work.

Nice to have:

• Operational experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Knowledge of Harbor or other container registries.
• Experience working with HashiCorp Vault on Kubernetes.
• Exposure to the operator pattern in Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Terraform modules.
• Experience with containerization and CI/CD pipelines using Docker.

• Full ownership of platform services: development and maintenance of DBaaS (Severalnines CCX), Registry (Harbor), and Vault / Key Manager from implementation through API, documentation, and operational stability.
• Integration with common services such as IAM, billing, and quota systems developed by the Common Services team.
• End-to-end delivery including integration with Kubernetes, designing API endpoints, and final documentation.
• Engineering collaboration through code reviews, pair programming, and shaping technical and quality standards.
