Software Engineer (Machine Learning - MLOps)

Tesco Technology is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to join their Data Science Engineering team in Kraków. The team supports data platforms, analytics capabilities, and data products across retail domains such as supply chain, logistics, and online services.

• Higher degree in engineering, computer science, maths or science
• Customer focus balancing outcome delivery and technical excellence
• Experience building MLOps systems according to best market standards
• Commercial experience in high-impact Data Science projects within complex organizations
• Awareness of emerging MLOps practices and tooling like feature stores and model lifecycle management
• Analytical mindset with ability to solve specific business problems
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, fluent in Python
• Experience with version control (Git) and software lifecycle tooling
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Splunk or Grafana
• Understanding of common data structures and algorithms
• Experience with open-source Data-Science environments
• Knowledge of big-data technologies like Apache Spark
• Experience building cloud solutions, ideally on Azure
• Familiarity with software development methodologies including Scrum & Kanban
• Background or understanding of retail, logistics, or ecommerce advantageous

• Participate in group discussions on system design and architecture
• Communicate and translate product team needs into technical requirements
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product teams throughout the software lifecycle
• Deliver high quality code and production solutions
• Perform code reviews to optimize technical performance of data science solutions
• Support production systems, resolve incidents, and conduct root cause analysis
• Evolve and improve technology, processes, and practices
• Share knowledge with the immediate engineering team
• Collaborate with other teams on complex initiatives via working groups
• Improve and build solutions using GenAI
• Apply SDLC practices to create and release robust software
