Senior Cloud Data Engineer

TransferGo is a growing fintech scale-up with close to 400 employees across Europe and the UK. The company focuses on providing tailored, affordable financial services to make money transfers more accessible globally. The Data team owns the end-to-end data platform, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and the Redshift warehouse, aiming to build trusted, self-service data products with an AI-native approach.

• Minimum 3 years experience building and operating production data pipelines.
• Proficient in dbt: models, tests, documentation, and managing multiple environments.
• Strong production experience with Python for data engineering.
• Advanced SQL skills and analytical data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services: Redshift, S3, Lambda, IAM, Glue, Kinesis, ECS, ECR.
• Experience with OLAP/MPP warehouses, preferably Redshift.
• Skilled in infrastructure as code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Experience authoring and managing Airflow DAGs.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes with GitHub Actions.
• Capable of end-to-end ownership from requirements to production and monitoring.
• High autonomy and ability to solve ambiguous problems.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with streaming/CDC tooling, data quality/observability tooling, and data contracts.
• Background in financial services such as payments, remittances, or regulated banking environments.
• Experience managing PII, access control, and audit/lineage requirements.
• Familiarity with AWS cost optimization techniques.

• Build and operate production data pipelines end-to-end, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain dbt models with tests and documentation.
• Author, schedule, and debug Airflow DAGs.
• Provision and manage AWS infrastructure as code using CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Support AI-ready data agent integration and Redshift access tasks.
• Own data quality, observability, and CI/CD using GitHub Actions for pipelines.
• Engage directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements and maintain solutions when issues arise.
