Cobol Developer

As a Cobol Developer within the TRA (Trade Finance) tribe, you will contribute to a global release train on a common core banking product at Société Générale. The role involves ensuring features developed by your team are analyzed, specified, developed, tested, and deployed while managing dependencies with the rest of the release train.

• At least 3 years of experience as a Cobol developer/software engineer
• Understanding of Agile and project methodologies: Scrum, SAFe, Agile, and Waterfall
• Proficiency in English; Polish is a strong plus
• High analytical skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible approach
• Curiosity and openness to explore other technologies
• Able to work autonomously, take initiative, and challenge & improve legacy systems
• Organized and able to prioritize work

Nice to have:

• Experience with JCL, Java, Mainframe, CICS, zOs, Git, API, Cloud

• Decompose technical and functional requests into detailed user stories by interacting with the Product Owner and the feature team
• Develop code using software best practices such as BDD, TDD, continuous integration, legacy refactoring, and Continuous Delivery
• Participate in the team's testing, deployment, and production activities to ensure production stability
• Integrate vendor software into Société Générale IT ecosystem
• Implement and maintain a CI/CD pipeline
• Participate in application support, analyzing incidents, problems, and requests, coordinating with other teams until closure
• Ensure application operations including monitoring, alerting, resiliency, with help of the application manager
• Maintain up-to-date process and documentation
