Security Software Engineer 5

The Security Services Engineering organization supports Netflix by creating and operating the security access control model, including authentication, authorization, and cryptographic software services. This team focuses on complex access control use cases for Netflix Originals content production ecosystems, including Content, GenAI, Ads, Gaming, Live streaming, and more. The workforce and partners are global, accessing information via varied patterns and devices, necessitating identity as a perimeter on the open internet with strong access-control models.

• Proficiency in modern languages such as Java (preferred), Kotlin, Go, Golang, and Python.
• Familiarity with access control and IAM concepts including identity, authentication, authorization, roles, groups, attributes, and resource models.
• Experience with auth protocols like OpenID Connect, OAuth, SAML, and SCIM.
• Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, REST, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing complex access control models using RBAC, ABAC, or ReBAC.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment in a cloud platform.
• Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Hive, Presto, Spark, or Cassandra.
• Experience with graph databases.
• Experience with React or another modern frontend framework for full-stack work.

• Work collaboratively to solve problems, navigate ambiguity, make and communicate self-directed decisions, and weigh trade-offs.
• Build scalable, reliable, high-availability, and low-latency services.
• Design and build developer-facing APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns to simplify complex systems adoption.
• Serve as an in-time-zone security anchor, acting as a technical lead and partnering on security architecture decisions.
• Own system design, implementation, partner integration, rollout strategy, and maintenance of access tooling and integration services.
• Operate in a follow-the-sun, async-first model across EMEA and UCAN time zones.
