Senior Manager, Engineering - Partner Enablement Applications

The Client and Partner Technologies (CPT) organization at Netflix enables device and payments partnerships by building foundational client systems and tools. The Partner Enablement Apps group develops and evolves web applications powering business-to-business integrations with device partners (TVs, streaming sticks, set-top boxes, and other devices) and operator partners (ISPs, telcos, TV and mobile carriers).

• Extensive software development experience with strong technical foundations
• Significant experience managing managers or leading multiple teams
• Proven track record of building and scaling engineering organizations
• Experience with distributed systems, web applications, and cloud infrastructure
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to influence at all levels
• Strong judgment and decision-making in ambiguous situations
• Experience fostering inclusive team cultures valuing diverse perspectives
• Comfortable with in-office collaboration a few days per week
• Deep understanding of full-stack engineering practices and modern software development methodologies
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker, and build tools like Gradle
• Strong grasp of reliability engineering principles including monitoring, alerting, and incident management
• Demonstrated success working with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones
• Experience or strong interest in AI-powered intelligent systems including agent-based architectures and task automation

• Experience in B2B platform development or partner-facing applications
• Background in device ecosystem management or consumer electronics partnerships
• Experience with data platforms and analytics systems
• Prior experience at a high-growth technology company operating at scale

• Build strong relationships with Product, Design, Partner Engineering, and Business Development teams
• Communicate technical concepts and trade-offs effectively to non-technical stakeholders
• Navigate complex organizational dynamics and drive alignment across distributed teams
• Define and drive the long-term technical vision and roadmap for Enablement Applications
• Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and senior leadership to influence organizational strategy and prioritization
• Identify opportunities for innovation and platform evolution to support Netflix's growth
• Own technical and organizational strategy for migrating and deprecating legacy services while maintaining operational excellence
• Build, mentor, and retain a world-class engineering team, including hiring and developing managers and senior contributors
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, psychological safety, and engineering excellence
• Champion diversity and inclusion
• Provide coaching and career development support tailored to individual growth needs
• Establish and maintain comprehensive testing strategies (unit, integration, automated)

This role requires comfortable in-office collaboration a few days per week. Effective collaboration necessitates meetings outside standard local working hours due to cross-functional partners across multiple time zones. Travel to other organizational locations several times per year is expected for leadership offsites, planning, and relationship strengthening.
