Senior Systems Engineer - Orchestration Services

The mission of the team at Allegro is maintaining and tuning Kubernetes (running on-premise and in Public Cloud) and its ecosystem. The team works with free and open-source software (FOSS) technologies and develops custom solutions when necessary. Allegro Tech operates at scale with an open-source data bus (Hermes), service mesh, and production-used machine learning.

• Proven real-world experience with Linux, especially Ubuntu (storage management, installation, configuration, administration).
• Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Containerd).
• Daily usage of Git and Bash.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, HTTP, SSL).
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to solve complex technical problems and drive them to completion.
• Proficiency in English and Polish (minimum B2).

Nice to have:

• Experience with automation using Terraform.
• Experience with public cloud concepts and platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS).
• On-premise Kubernetes experience including building environments and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with tools such as Helm, Calico, GitLab, GitHub, Vault, Consul, BGP, or Argo.
• Programming experience in Python or Golang.

• Operate and maintain production Kubernetes systems running on-premise and in Public Cloud.
• Work according to the GitOps philosophy.
• Automate and optimize tools related to team operations and the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Build and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Create and develop custom tools according to team needs and requirements when FOSS options fall short.
• Participate in daily meetings, handle backlog tasks, and resolve business-critical issues as they arise.
