Game Marketing Specialist — Freelance

Skeleton-Labs is seeking a specialist to help lead marketing for a PC game from its current development stage through to release.

• Practical experience in marketing PC games
• Participated in game promotion leading to its release
• Strong knowledge of Steam and Steamworks marketing capabilities
• Understanding of wishlists, events, festivals, and game visibility on Steam
• Experience managing social media related to games
• Proficient in creating marketing materials in English
• Awareness of current gaming and social media trends
• Ability to proactively seek new promotion opportunities

Nice to have:

• Experience with indie or AA games
• Participation in Steam Next Fest or major Steam campaigns
• Contacts with gaming media or influencers
• Experience preparing press release materials
• Experience collaborating with or acquiring publishers
• Experience assembling pitch decks

• Plan and conduct marketing activities before the game's release
• Develop and optimize the Steam Store Page including descriptions, tags, and promotional materials
• Plan participation in Steam Next Fest, thematic festivals, events, and other Steam promotional actions
• Work to increase game visibility and wishlist numbers
• Manage communication on social media platforms
• Monitor current trends to find opportunities for organic growth
• Prepare announcements, news, and press release materials
• Conduct competition and similar titles research
• Support contacts with media, influencers, and content creators
• Potentially assist in publisher acquisition and prepare materials such as pitch deck
