Founding Engineer - Senior Software Engineer

Vidoc Security Lab is a 13-person early-stage security & AI startup operating in cybersecurity automation. The team is split between Poland (mainly Gdańsk) and San Francisco, has raised $6M, and participates in the NATO DIANA program and other NATO-related initiatives. They focus on developing AI Agents for security code review and autonomous cybersecurity systems.

• 6+ years of professional full-stack software development experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Node.js, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with microservices, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git workflows including pull requests and code reviews.
• Track record of building production software used by real customers.
• Self-driven with a tendency to learn new tools and domains proactively.
• Comfortable providing and receiving critical technical feedback.
• Genuine curiosity about large language models (LLMs) in production.
• Ability to challenge founders' ideas constructively.
• Experience beyond working in strictly defined tickets; ownership mentality.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Build prototypes and take them through to production ownership, including complex parts.
• Obtain requirements directly from founders and tech team through conversations.
• Influence product direction based on actual user needs.
• Own a product area end-to-end from idea to shipped feature.
• Collaborate with other teams to design, build, and test new features.
• Build on the core platform: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Shadcn.
• Work on distributed, high-performance scanning systems on AWS and Kubernetes and help scale infrastructure.
• Push the state of the art in security automation and defend tradeoffs to product and business.
• Join customer calls to provide technical insights.
• Optimize services for scalability, stability, and observability.
• Help define team processes and practices for sustainable growth.
