Java Developer

Jacobs is starting development of its Digital & Data Hub in Krakow, working on projects across industries such as Consumer and Manufacturing, Defence and Security, Energy and Utilities, Financial Services, Government and Public Services, Health and Life Sciences, and Transport.

• At least 3 years of practical experience in Java software development
• Extensive experience with Spring and Spring Boot
• Strong proficiency with version control using Git
• Knowledge of SQL databases
• Experience with unit testing frameworks, especially JUnit
• Familiarity with Linux environment
• Ability to design, implement, and deliver complex software solutions
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Fluent communication in English

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Postman/Insomnia for testing
• Experience with Kafka
• Familiarity with Jenkins
• Experience with BPMN frameworks

• Apply strong object-oriented programming principles in Java to design and implement robust and scalable solutions
• Leverage Java 8/11/17 features, including streams and functional interfaces
• Design and develop web applications using MVC frameworks including Spring and Spring Boot
• Implement RESTful services adhering to best practices for REST APIs
• Utilize JUnit, Wiremock, and Mockito for unit testing and mocking
• Implement code quality checks using SonarQube
• Manage and optimize data storage solutions, focusing on PostgreSQL
• Implement hosting and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions using the ELK stack
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using BitBucket and Maven
