DevOps Engineer

Scaleworks is a lean engineering organization responsible for a revenue-generating production platform with a broad scope including cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines, database operations, and observability.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience running production infrastructure on AWS
• Strong database administration experience in production with PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and MongoDB
• Experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse platforms
• Practical experience applying AI tools to DevOps work including LLM-assisted troubleshooting, AI code review, and workflow automation
• Solid scripting and infrastructure-as-code skills with reviewable and repeatable changes
• Experience building monitoring and alerting systems from the ground up
• Working knowledge of compliance-driven operations such as SOC 2, ISO 27001
• Fluent English communication skills, daily coordination with US-based colleagues
• Comfort working in distributed teams with US business hours overlap

• Operate and evolve a production AWS environment including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, and infrastructure automation
• Administer and tune production databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL including performance tuning, replication health, backups, and cost control
• Support analytical data workloads and Snowflake-based pipelines
• Build and maintain observability layers: monitoring, alerting, SLOs, synthetic checks, and availability reporting
• Own end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, from build tooling to deployment automation and rollback procedures
• Apply AI tooling to DevOps work: AI-assisted incident analysis, code generation and review, automated runbook execution, and agent-based workflows
• Support SOC 2 compliance on infrastructure side: log retention, access control, asset inventory, and audit evidence collection
• Plan and execute maintenance windows, OS image lifecycle management, and database upgrades with minimal customer impact
