DevOps

Scaleworks is a software fund that acquires and invests in B2B SaaS companies. They apply a hands-on operational model focusing on markets they can lead and reinvest profits into growth. The role is for a portfolio company of Scaleworks.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience running production infrastructure on AWS
• Strong database administration skills in production for PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and MongoDB
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms
• Practical experience applying AI tools to DevOps work including LLM-assisted troubleshooting, AI code review, and workflow automation
• Solid scripting and infrastructure-as-code skills with reviewable and repeatable changes
• Experience building monitoring and alerting systems from scratch
• Working knowledge of compliance operations like SOC 2 or ISO 27001
• Fluent English, spoken and written for daily communication with US-based colleagues
• Comfortable working in a distributed team overlapping US business hours

• Operate and evolve a production AWS environment including EC2, load balancing, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPC networking with infrastructure automation
• Administer and tune production databases across MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL including performance, replication health, backup, recovery, and cost control
• Support analytical data workloads with Snowflake-based pipelines and reporting infrastructure
• Build and maintain observability layer including monitoring, alerting, SLOs, synthetic checks, and availability reporting
• Own CI/CD pipelines end to end including build tooling, static checks, deployment automation, and rollback procedures
• Apply AI tooling to DevOps work: AI-assisted incident analysis, infra code generation and review, automated runbook execution, and agent-based workflows
• Support SOC 2 compliance on infrastructure side: log retention, access control, asset inventory, audit evidence collection
• Plan and execute maintenance windows, OS image lifecycle, and database upgrades with minimal customer impact
