Staff Machine Learning Scientist

Zendesk QA develops AI solutions for customer service to improve customer experience by automating repetitive work. The role is based in Tallinn, Estonia, within a multi-functional team including scientists, engineers, and product managers.

• Proficient programming skills in python with good code hygiene
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling
• Experience building features using supervised or unsupervised machine learning and statistical models
• Experience with features utilizing LLMs is a plus
• Proven track record of deploying models to production
• Strong communication skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Strong independence, planning, and time management skills

Nice to have:

• MSc degree or PhD in computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical or analytical field

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms for AI features
• Propose and prototype features utilizing generative models to solve customer problems
• Stay updated with advancements in machine learning and AI and apply them to existing systems
• Collaborate with ML engineers, product, and UX teams to realize innovations
• Solve challenges using recent machine learning techniques including information retrieval, prompt engineering, and large language models (LLMs)
• Champion initiatives to improve the quality and robustness of Zendesk AI capabilities
• Mentor junior colleagues and set standards for building ML-powered applications
