Cloud Data Engineer

TransferGo is a fintech scale-up with close to 400 employees across Europe and the UK. The company focuses on providing affordable financial services to support financial freedom. The Data team owns TransferGo's data platform end to end, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and the Redshift warehouse, enabling business domains to build self-service data products.

• 3+ years experience building and operating production data pipelines.
• Production use of dbt models, tests, documentation, and multiple environments.
• Strong production Python skills for data engineering.
• Advanced SQL and analytical data modelling expertise.
• Hands-on AWS experience with Redshift, S3, Lambda, IAM, Glue, Kinesis, ECS, ECR.
• Production experience with OLAP/MPP warehouse (Redshift preferred).
• Infrastructure as code proficiency with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Experience authoring, scheduling, and debugging Airflow DAGs.
• CI/CD knowledge with GitHub Actions.
• End-to-end ownership from requirements to monitoring and fixing issues.
• High autonomy and problem decomposition skills.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with streaming/CDC tooling, data quality/observability tooling, data contracts.
• Experience in financial services: payments, remittances, banking, or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of PII handling, access control, and audit/lineage requirements.
• AWS cost optimisation experience.

• Build and operate production data pipelines end to end: ingestion, transformation, orchestration, monitoring.
• Develop and maintain dbt models with tests and documentation.
• Author, schedule, and debug Airflow DAGs.
• Provision and own AWS infrastructure as code using CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Support AI-ready data agent and MCP/Redshift access work.
• Own data quality, observability, and CI/CD with GitHub Actions for pipelines.
• Clarify requirements with stakeholders and fix pipeline issues when they arise.
