AML Analyst (Dentons Business Services EMEA)

Dentons Business Services EMEA is the operational backbone of Dentons, supporting the world's largest law firm across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa by providing services including finance, IT, human resources, and marketing.

• Relevant University Degree
• 1-2 years legal or compliance experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
• Highly effective research skills using relevant information sources and IT resources
• Good knowledge of compliance rules and regulations including client care, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, anti-bribery and corruption, money laundering, sanctions
• Ability to assemble research and produce clear findings
• Strong analytical and succinct communication skills
• Ability to use internal precedents and draft clear emails
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience with new business intake systems such as Intapp OPEN
• Versatile, resourceful, and creative thinker
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer facing and problem-solving abilities
• Able to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently
• Capable of identifying improvements to systems and controls and suggesting them

• Undertake and handle all types of Client Due Diligence (CDD)
• Review and assess risks of new clients and matters from AML, sanctions, and reputational perspectives
• Undertake client and matter risk assessments
• Conduct sanctions screening updates
• Assist with ongoing monitoring of clients and matters
• Advise on sanctions, professional ethical obligations, matter and billing structure, engagement terms, and inter-office arrangements
• Provide a concierge service to partners by liaising with clients on AML and sanctions issues
• Manage all stages of the matter opening process and escalate issues as necessary
• Assist with the firm's internal audit processes
• Handle basic data protection queries relevant to AML
• Assist with AML and sanctions training
• Review and update Dentons' internal compliance policies and procedures
• Assist with projects and ad hoc assignments as required
